Adequate words escape you, the emotion fills you, the realization that you are living to see this historic event… THANK YOU LORD!!

Meditate on the following presentations that capture Nov. 4th, 2008, a date that will forever be a monumental memory for generations to come.

It is 2008 and even on the countdown to one of the most historic events in our modern day, racism is still prevelant.  The version today is more subtle, the glass ceiling is still there and even when that black man plays the game well, as soon as they try and…’talk out of turn or push back’… they are quickly shown… who remains… the master.

As Christians… we are supposed to be in this world, but now of this world and the more… progressive we become… the further we pull from God.  Sometimes it is so hard to walk among snakes daily.

Barack…My Prayers continue…

A custodian at George Fox University discovered the effigy early Tuesday and immediately removed it, President Robin Baker said. University spokesman Rob Felton said Wednesday that the commercially produced reproduction had been suspended from the branch of a tree near Minthorn Hall with fishing line around the neck.

The hanging of the effigy around the neck is seen as racist symbolism because it harkens back to lynchings of black men by white mobs, especially in the U.S. South, decades ago. Obama is aiming to become America’s first black president.

“We will not tolerate such displays and condemn it in the strongest terms,” Baker said. “George Fox University is committed to becoming a place that more broadly represents the Kingdom of God — a place where students from diverse backgrounds come together to live out the teachings of Jesus in our world.”

Taped to the cardboard cutout of Obama was a sign that read “Act Six reject.” Act Six is a scholarship program geared toward increasing the number of minority and low-income students at several Christian colleges, mostly in the Northwest.

The school has 17 students in the program, whose name derives from the New Testament book of Acts. All but one are members of minority groups, Felton said.

Students in the program receive full scholarships and are selected on the basis of leadership potential.

‘Disheartened and outraged’
Baker met with the students in the Act Six program late Tuesday and addressed the student body Wednesday at the school’s regular chapel service.

Baker told students he was “disheartened and outraged.”

“It has been my dream to establish a university that more adequately represents the kingdom of God,” he said. “This act causes some to question our commitment.”

Newberg police Sgt. Tim Weaver said officials are working with the university to find out who was responsible. He also said the police department has notified the U.S. Secret Service, although it’s not clear yet whether the act was a crime.

Brad Lau, a university vice president, said school officials have been questioning students for leads. He and other school officials wouldn’t say what action it might take.

Race factor
Several students in the Act Six program said they are angry but do not feel threatened.

“To me, I just felt like they weren’t ready to have a black person be president,” said Courtney Greenidge, a sophomore. “We’re trying to bring change. Obama’s trying to bring change.” She described herself, like Obama, as biracial: half black, half white.

She also said that overall, the campus has a welcoming and positive environment, but that she has heard comments along the lines of, “Oh, I wish I was black. Then I could get a scholarship like that.”

George Fox University’s campus is in Newberg in the Willamette Valley south of Portland. About 1,800 students are enrolled. It also has centers in Portland; Salem; and Boise, Idaho.

Felton said that about 2 percent of the students are black and about a quarter of the freshman class belong to minority groups. That number includes international students, largely from Asia and Africa.

It swells you up with emotion, it makes you feel prouder to be a african american, it opens up new possibilities…. this America is a proud moment!!!

 Barack Obama has made his vice presidential pick: The first term Senator will tap his more experienced colleague, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., to join the Democratic ticket.

(Charles Rex Arbogast/AP Photo)Biden, 65, brings immediate heft and foreign policy credentials to a ticket topped by the 47-year-old Obama. The Delaware Democrat first won his job in the Senate over 35 years ago — when Obama was only 11 — and has been re-elected five times.

He’s chaired both the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Judiciary Committee, and raised his profile recently by traveling on a fact-finding mission to war-torn Georgia, where he called for increased U.S. aid to the country and peacekeeping forces.

The trip underscored his vast foreign policy experience — something that is lacking from Obama’s resume. Biden is also thought to be someone who could hold his own during a vice presidential debate.

I will continue to pray for you my brother.  It will continue to be a daily struggle, remember what the Bible says… test the spirit by the spirit.  Keep your enemies close… strangers unaware.

A caller was put on and he preceded to tell Mike that all of the right wing conservatives are really reaching when they continue with the latest church episode.  He said that in a year that they have a weak economy, a weak candidate and America’s determination…NOT… to experience the same, they are pulling out desparate steps to change the minds of America.

They focused on Hillary’s latest wins, they mentioned Kentucky, which by the way, in the largests progressive cities, Barack won, in the rest of the small towns that will tell you they will never vote for a N”’, she won.  It doesn’t MATTER!

America will not vote for another Republican!  The thought of another 4 years of what we are currently experiencing will not let McCain in!  Doesn’t matter if it’s Operation Chaos, it doesn’t matter who’s the preacher, it doesn’t matter the so called lack of experience, it simply doesn’t matter.

Most if not all of the generations to come… want change.  Barack has been put in a time were his message of Change resonates to all races… much like Martin’s did in his time.

If a Republican wins, it won’t be God Bless America… it will be God Spare America!

Don’t have time to get into leaving a Church.  People leave for a lot of reasons, but I always say, the Church is more than the Pastor… it’s the people and the relationships.  It’s GOD, if you are not being fed, then perhaps it’s time………

IT’S TIME FOR A …. CHANGE!

Me thinks that politics is a dirty dirty affair and those that can stomach it…. well?  Why would we be surprised at how this current administration will be remembered when they stole the election back in 2000.  It is a great reminder…go O’bama!!
